The Santa Barabara Island fleet cruise if fast approaching. You must make boat reservations NOW. Be sure to reserve a dinghy and bring your snorkel, mask and fins. Even a kayak is fun to carry aboard. I will make arrangements with each skipper individually to talk about safety, food, navigation, etc.
Thursday we leave from Dana Point and pick up a mooring at Emerald Bay on Catalina. Friday, we head out 20 miles past Catalina's West End to anchor at SBI. Sat. noon we head back to Cat Harbor on the back side of Catalina. Early Sun am, we head home along the backside, pulling into Little Harbor for a look-around and so you know how to approach it and enter safely. Arrival back at Dana is approximately 8 pm. This is a fast-paced trip, but is about the easiest way to go there in a reasonably short time, and don't forget, you are cruising with experienced sailors to offer help if needed.
There will be a group B.Y.O. cocktail party aboard my boat the first evening in Emerald Bay, kayaking, snorkeling with the sea lions, hiking (if Mr. 2-ton lets you come ashore), and a dinghy trip around the island into beautiful kelp coves with blow holes, sea lion nurseries, beautiful fish swimming in the kelp, elephant seals, and the must-see, penis rock! Few people get to see this spectacular place that we in California are so lucky to have, so be sure to reserve your boat ASAP.

It is sponsored by WORSA and will be hosted in the Aventura Lounge. It is the 3rd Annual Disabled Sailor Benefit Race to be held in Dana Point. 100% of the entry fees will be donated to “Challenged America” to assist in the cost to outfit sailboats for use by a disabled person. Don’t miss this opportunity to help those less fortunate to experience the joy of sailing. There will be food, drinks, and awards for winners. Maybe some disabled sailors will join the race and bring a newly outfitted boat to Dana Harbor for viewing. For those who are not experienced racers, it is a great opportunity to charter a boat, now, and enter in the cruising class.
